Rachel's 2012 Watch List - June

6/1 - 6/2
Men In Black III - So meh, my date fell asleep.
Snow White and the Huntsman - A very pretty film with a lot of problems.
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World (R) - "I'm in lesbians with you."

6/3 - 6/9
Harvey - OMG, did I only watch one movie all week?! At least I'm caught up on True Blood and Breaking Bad.

6/10 - 6/16
Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted - The only thing I really took away from this was the "Afro Circus" diddy, which makes wants to claw out my eardrums.
We Need to Talk About Kevin - A true horror film for any parent.
The Evil Dead - At first I was having The Cabin in the Woods flashbacks.
Birdemic: Shock and Terror - Move over Troll 2; there's a new Best Worst Movie in town.
RoboCop - Catching up on my 80's classics.
Little Shop of Horrors - It's been 20 years since I've seen this and I'm beginning to realize where my crippling fear of dentists comes from.
Mr. Smith Goes to Washington - Takes me back to middle school civics class.
Prometheus - Well that was frustrating, and not in a good way.
The Cabin in the Woods (R) - The second-run theater must have known it was my birthday and afforded me the opportunity to see my favorite 2012 film (so far) for only a buck.

6/17 - 6/23
Chronicle - I'm so over found footage films.
Jane Eyre - Not a classic Brit Lit love story I could get into.
Angel - SPOILER: I still can't believe this movie wasn't all in the protagonist's head.
Hunger - It gets the Into the Wild Award from me.
Centurion - Fassy vs. Psycho Warrior Woman was excellent entertainment.
Fish Tank - Outside of a questionable turn near the end, I really dug it.
Inglourious Basterds (R) - Fassy may have only had two scenes, but I'll take any opportunity to watch one of my favorite QT films again.
Seeking a Friend for the End of the World - The more I think about it, the more I like it.
Inception (R) - I've been missing 2010 a lot lately.

6/24 - 6/30
The Shop Around the Corner - Total ripoff of You've Got Mail. [/sarcasm]
The Philadelphia Story - Is it sad that I like Cate Blanchett's portrayal of Hepburn in Aviator more than I've ever actually cared for the real Hepburn?
The Hunt for Red October - Wait, Sean Connery was a protagonist? How?
Brave - Expect a Movies with Mia on the horizon.

2012 TALLY:
First Time - 145
Rewatched - 46
Total - 191

  1. Yay Little Shop! It seems a lot of people are rewatching this lately, too. That makes me happy.

  2. BIRDEMIC? Oooooo. Consider this on my Must Watch list.

And yer caught up with BREAKING BAD, eh? Thoughts on the last three episodes?

I momentarily mistook your 'a pretty film with a lot of problems' for SCOTT PILGRIM and was about ready to battle you and defend the film to my dying breath, and then I re-read and saw it was SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN, and all is now right in the world. True story. The battle was going to be a epic of epic epicness.

...and I think I need to watch LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS. My high school did a performance of it that really turned me off from the whole dealio, but some online comments are making me rethink this stance...

    1. Birdemic was so awesomely awful! And there's a Rifftrax of it I must purchase.

Breaking Bad was AMAZING! That season 4 finale gave me chills. Can't wait to see where things go from here.

I would NEVER say anything like that about Scotty P.

Little Shop drags for me toward the end, but it's still entertaining.
