30 Days of Oscars: Day 4 - The Lunchtime Poll #19

No one chimed in with the full 84, but a couple voters were very close. Raise your hand if you're the one voter who supposedly has never seen a Best Picture winner, because we're not sure we believe you. As always, thanks for voting!

This week Heather and Veronica want to know:

Do you watch the Oscars ceremony?

Let's face it, spending 3.5 hours in front of the t.v. on Sunday night isn't always easy folks. But some of us make the annual sacrifice to watch the show from beginning to end, while others just DVR it and watch their favorite parts later and some simply find out the winners the next day by checking online. So what kind of bird are you?

  1. I definitely watch the Oscars every year. Of course, I also do an Oscar pool, so I wonder what it would be like if I wasn't tallying results the whole time. That makes the time fly by and makes the results a lot more exciting.

    1. Oh no doubt. Last year I didn't live blog or tweet, but I did keep up with my thoughts/comments in a post which I put up the next day. But doing just that really made things go by quickly, as I'm sure tallying voters' polls do too, which I also kept up with while recording my thoughts :)

  2. I don't get to watch the whole thing since I'm at school and they start 90 mins before school finishes. I do however rush home to watch them, and that leaves me a good 2 hours of Oscar-y stuff. I really enjoy watching them, even though I usually know who will win.

    1. Ahhh man, that sucks. But a least you get to catch the most interesting awards. I normally love to watch too, just in case of some dramatic upset. Plus I'm a sucker for a good movie montage, and there's normally a couple each year.

  3. I've always watched them before (often kept interested by snarky live chats with other film lovers), but I can't get into the awards spirit this year. I may or may not watch them at all, haven't decided yet.

    1. I know what you mean, Jandy. I'll probably have the Oscars on more as background noise, much like we did with the Superbowl this past week. Hard to pay attention to a tv while keeping up with a newborn and all.
