It's time for me to say some controversial things again. Yay!
Honestly, I'm not much of a Bond fan. I've seen a few, but never could get behind him as an icon. I did see Casino Royale, which was much better than the Brosnan years, but was far too long. So I wasn't impressed enough to see Quantum of Solace, though I understand I didn't miss much. Despite all the hype this third Craig installment has been collecting over the weeks, I can't suppress my indifference enough to care. But perhaps I'll catch up with it, and Solace, on dvd someday.
Ahhh, two things I feel have been severely overrated the past few years: Steven Spielberg and Daniel Day-Lewis. Yeah, you read that right. Sure Spielberg has made some truly classic films, but I haven't been truly knocked out by anything in a long time. DDL has been hamming it up at least since Gangs of New York (though not as much in Nine, which was just dull all around) and I find it downright painful to endure, despite all the praise he continually receives. Forgive me if I skip this obvious Oscar bait film for now.
