Wow, could this have been any closer? It seems no one runs out to just buy a dvd annivresary copy because they must have it, but it was pretty much split across the rest of the board.
As always, thanks for voting!
This week Heather and Veronica want to know:
With half of 2012 out of the way, what's your favorite film you've seen so far this year?
Of course I couldn't list every option, and most of these are mainstream, but I tried for a decent mix of mediocre to awesome, and nothing horrifically panned (sorry to all the fans of The Devil Inside and A Thousand Words). So if you choose "Other" please leave a comment telling us what we left out. And listen to Episode 83 for our picks!
Since I'm pretty sure it won't be on the list, I'll just say my favorite of the year so far is The Kid with a Bike.
ReplyDeleteYeah, sorry. That's one of those wonking dates that hit most of the world last year, but didn't come stateside till earlier this year so I didn't even see it on the list of 2012 releases I referenced to compile my list.
DeleteToo bad The Artist is considered a 2011 film (despite it not coming to me until this year). It would have made this easier. But I went with Cabin in the Woods.
ReplyDeleteI didn't see The Artist till this year either, but it wouldn't really be fair to put it on list of 2012 releases after it's already won Best Picture :)
DeleteI can never access this feature properly, so I'll comment here. I loved THE HUNGER GAMES, but my fav si far is THE BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL.
ReplyDeleteAnd I put it in the poll just for you, Mom. Get thee to a real computer!
DeleteI'll be surprised if The Avengers, my top film, doesn't top most people's list of top film of the year so far.
ReplyDeleteTwo days in and it's got the most so far. It may very well stay that way.
DeleteI'm going out on a limb and guessing that JOHN CARTER is gonna take this.
ReplyDeleteNo? Just me? Okay...
One counter-question for Rachel & Jess, if you had to choose the best film you've seen so far this year - could be a dvd/on-demand, could be a 2011 holdover that came to town in January, could be one from the list on the right - what would you choose?
You'll have to listen to Episode 83 to find out. We definitely answer it.
DeleteActually, if we're talking about the BEST out of everything I've seen so far this year, I gotta with the classic A Clockwork Orange, which I watched for the first time in January.
