That being said, are you ready to kick yourselves over the ones you thought you knew, but just couldn't get? Here are the answers:

So who got the most??? After all that, we have a tie! And since it's for first, we won't hold a tie-breaker; each of these players will get a $25 movie theater gift card. So Dylan of Man, I Love Films and Keith of Kano's Lay-Z-Boy Theater, congrats on getting 17 out of 20! Most impressive. But we can't forget our third place prize of a guest spot on the show, and that goes to Andy of The Ramblings of a Minnesota Geek with 15 correct out of 20. We'll be in touch with all the winners in the next few days.
Thank you so much for playing. Sorry to have driven you all insane, but glad you had fun...or at least that's what your frustrated emails led me to believe. Maybe we'll do it again someday.
On a final note, I'd like to call out two players who were the only ones to each get a letter that no one else could get. Scott of Frankly, My Dear (and the next RI guest) named the G from Raising Arizona and David from Hoping for Something to Hope For knew that E from Metropolis. Well done, guys!
Come back for more games with Sims Screenshots later today!
Congrats to all winners! 17 was insanely good! I think I ended up with the 9 most obvious ones. =)
ReplyDeleteI was most impressed with 17. Must've underestimated some determination from our readers.
DeleteOuch! Some of those hurt me that I didn't figure them out...
ReplyDeleteKnow what you mean. If someone else had this contest, I probably wouldn't have gotten half.
DeleteDude, I'm so sorry. I thought Monday was the deadline. Just stopped by to get the e-mail to submit but I would've lost anyway so meh! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's the thought that counts!
DeleteI'm satisfied in the knowledge that I would never have guessed the ones that I couldn't figure out the answer for no matter how long I took.
ReplyDeleteAND you were the only person to get Metropolis. That's insanely impressive!
DeleteO. M. G! I won something! I won something! Oooooo! Soo doing a victory dance right now. It's actually sorta embarrassing. Okay, I'll stop. Nah, one more time....
ReplyDeleteOkay, back. Alright, so RAISING ARIZONA for the "G". I feel both extremely dumb and generally alright I did not get that one. I would never have gotten the "I" from HAYWIRE, and never in a bazillion years the J. EDGAR bit. But still....awesome, awesome, AWESOME game! Bring on the next bit!
I was feeling particularly devious when I threw in that "E" for J. Edgar. I was excited when I found Raising Arizona for the safety pin "A", but alas, no "A" was needed.
DeleteAlso, aside from being a guest on the show, Andy, you get to pick whom we'll discuss. See the podcast page for a full list of actors we've already covered.
I knew I knew that 'I' from somewhere! Damn you, Haywire...
ReplyDeleteThat one was too good to pass up using!
DeleteWell, I was right in a way - no one scored more than me! Yes, as Rachel knows, I was pretty cocky with my 17 - impressive work, Kano!
ReplyDeleteThat fucking "G" is the only one of the three that really bothers me - I don't think I'd have come up with the Metropolis E or the Night of the Living Dead L, but I KNEW I was wildly familiar with that G and it just didn't come to me.
And just in case it saves you time - here's the page for gift cards from my preferred theater chain: https://www.harkinstheatres.com/HarkinsStore/Groups.aspx?cid=110 Pretty sure both of you already have my address.
THANKS! Was loads of frustrating fun (as you know)!
Cocky indeed:) But thanks for playing. Glad you had fun, even if it was frustrating.
DeleteSweet. I thought for sure that someone out there was going to get each and every one. I was so mad that I couldn't come up with the final three.
ReplyDeleteThat being said, I also missed the "G" and it also truly bothered me. After seeing the results I don't think I would have ever gotten the other two I missed.
Nice job to you as well, Dylan! Enjoy the movie.
Thanks for doing this Rach and Jess. It was fun, yet also truly agonizing. If that can happen at the same time.
Like Dylan, here is my movie theater because out here where I live, we don't have any of the BIG ones: http://cumberland12.com/
That G seemed to be a sore spot for almost everyone. I think I heard about 8 people simultaneously kicking themselves around the world when the answer was revealed.
DeleteThanks for playing!
